Cyclone recovery system is the optimal choice for high recovery efficiency and fast color change demands for automatic powder coating booth. Cyclone booth provides powerful air extraction and equal airflow distribution for perfect powder application job and creates a dustless working area, in the multi-color application line, it greatly reduces downtime and maximizes your production.

For cyclone booth, the complete powder recovery system includes a cyclone separator and an after-filter unit

The first recovery stage is cyclone system, when air stream suspended with high volume of powder overspray passes through the cyclone,  powder particulates will be effectively separated from air stream. Thus, most powders will be captured and recycled.

Afterwards, the second recovery stage- cartridge filter unit, will capture the ultra-fine powder particulates which can not be collected by cyclone, these powders are often wasted.

How does the first recovery stage- cyclone system work?

The cyclone equipment uses centrifugal force and gravity to separate particulates from sir stream according to their relative density.

When the high-speed air stream passes through the upper cylindrical portion of the reverse-tapered separator, the air stream rotates at a high speed inside the cylinder while centrifugal force is generated inside the inverted cone, and this centrifugal force separates the heavy powder coating powders.

The heavy powders drop down and deposited into a collection tray of the cone and recovered.  Light powders(ultra-fine particulates) are carried away with the air flow, which will be transported to the after-filter unit.

Cyclone device achieves a recovery of up to 95% for powder particle size over 15um.

How does the secondary recovery stage - filter cartridge unit work?

Cartridge Filter Recovery

Ultra-fine powder particulates will not drop down into the cyclone bottom, and these powders are often unqualified for recycling which must be collected or will causes air pollution if vented.

The stage containes a group of high-precision cartridge filters that is capable of capturing approximately 99 percent of powder that passes through them.

Particulates that accumulate on the filter will be periodically released thanks to pulse air jets controlled by solenoid valves

Cartridge filters are fitted with "Rotary-Wing" system inside, which increases cleaning efficiency of surface area and ensures long-term performance of the filters.

How to continuously transfer the powder overspray for recycling ? - self-cleaning Booth Floor

The spray booth floor is designed with automatic air knife device which removes and prevents powder accumulation, than continuously transfer the powders to the recovery system through air ducts

It makes the booth floor easily and quickly cleaned, maximizes powder recovery efficiency, also minimizes the color contamination during color change.

For Small Scale Production or Single Color Application, the recovery system just requires high precision filters

Shop air is drawn into the spray booth by a extract fan, and then passes through the booth's workspace into the cartridge filter wall.  Powder particles are separated from the air and stick on the high precision filters, only clean airflow vented back to the shop. Electric controlled pulse soleniod valves will clear the cartridge filters off the accumulated powder into a recovery hopper and extend filter life.

How to choose a powder coating booth with recovery system?

1) If you want to build big scale automatic production line and has many powder colors to change, cyclone separator + after filter unit is your initial choice.Cyclone delivers the industries the most flexible color changing operation due to the superior efficiency of overspray collection. It will greatly reduce your downtime and increase powder reclaim efficiency. Then you can choose an automatic cyclone powder coating booth.

2) If you want to build a big scale automatic production line but only have one color, automatic powder coating booth with filter recovery system is your economical choice. Comparing with cyclone spray booth, filter type spray booth requires much lower budget but ensures powder recovery efficiency.

3) If you have very small production and manual system is enough, you can choose manual type powder coating booth with quick-release type cartridge filters, Changing color just change the filters.
